Helen Nelson LeBlanc, 89, passed away April 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, George LeBlanc, her sisters Lena, Lois, Louise, and brother Jesse. She is survived by her sister Ruth Nelson Byrd of Hattiesburg, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Helen was born in Ellisville, Mississippi to Ella and Sam Nelson. She graduated from Forrest County Agricultural High School, and attended the University of Southern Mississippi, and Columbia University, New York. Helen was an avid tennis player and fan, dance instructor, and community volunteer in Connecticut, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Helen's inquiring mind always led her to the "next big thing" and she was a source of constant entertainment for all who knew her.
A family memorial service was held August 19, 2018, with Helen's ashes scattered at her home place and Red Creek.
The family requests that you all go sit in a folding chair in the creek of your choice in memory of Helen.
