Jane Leona (Conway) Bukowski, 95, of Hattiesburg, MS (formerly of Bartlett, IL) passed away peacefully at her residence on September 21, 2017. Jane was born on March 27, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Thomas Conway and Bessie (Schuknecht) Conway. Jane married and had five children with James K. Fitzpatrick II (b. 1912 d. 1976). Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore Alex Bukowski; and three of her children - Patricia Lawler, Helen Lukasik, and James K. Fitzpatrick III. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Christian (Jim) of Hattiesburg, MS, and daughter Carole Lawler of Las Vegas, NV.  Mrs. Bukowski (“Great-Great”) is also survived by and will be sadly missed by her 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren. She retired from GTE Corporation after 29 years of service at the age of 61. Jane attended St. Fabian Catholic Church where she prided herself in being the oldest parishioner. In addition to church, she enjoyed traveling, her pets, and spending time with family and friends.
A Celebration of the life of Jane “Great-Great” Bukowski will be held on October 9th, 4 pm, Lake Serene Clubhouse,  256 W Lake Rd, Hattiesburg. Jane will be buried alongside her late husband and her beloved dog, Cookie, at Lakewood Cemetery in Elgin, IL at a later date. Memorials made be donated in Jane’s honor to St Fabian Catholic Church building fund, 27 Veritas Lane, Sumrall, MS 39482
