Ann Hobart Smith Woods
Private Graveside Services will be held at Highland Cemetery for Mrs. Ann Hobart Smith Woods, 85, who died Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital.
Mrs. Woods was a native of Hattiesburg, MS, born in 1936 in Forrest County to Dr. Hobart Smith, a local dentist and Floriene Trapp Smith, a homemaker.
She was born into the membership of Main Street United Methodist Church and a lifetime resident of Hattiesburg. She earned a BS degree in Pharmacy from Auburn University. She participated in several organizations, including United Methodist Woman, Daughters of American Colonists and Norvell Robertson Chapter of DAR, Wesley Sunday School Class of Main Street United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Hattiesburg Junior Auxillary and Chi Omega Alumni Association. She was a past member of Four Seasons Garden Club, American Pharmaceutical Association, Mississippi Pharmaceutical Association and Alabama Pharmaceutical Association.
She served as a volunteer in many community activites and projects such as Hattiesburg Civic Arts Council, Girl Scouts, Junior Miss Pageants, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Debutante Association and Krewe of Zeus Committee activites.
Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her husband, Roderick D. Woods; her daughter Julia Woods Dickinson; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Hobart Smith and her brother, Roy A. Smith.
She is survived by her three children, Roderick D. Woods, Jr. of Memphis, TN, Tenn Ann Tarrant Woods Clark of Baton Rouge, LA and Samuel Smith Woods of Hattiesburg, MS; eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
