Ann Rene Foster

Ann Rene’ Foster was peacefully welcomed into her eternal home on May 25, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Rene’ was born in Waynesboro, MS on September 6, 1955 to the late Joe and Ann Welford.  Rene’ grew up as the middle sister of four brothers: Terry, Ronnie, Michael, and David.

On August 28, 1976, she became the beloved wife of Joe Foster, and she remained his faithful and loving companion for 44 years.

Together, they happily raised two daughters, Lauren (Lee Long), and Abbie (Kurt Sinclair).

Her greatest joys were her grandchildren: Caroline Long, Harper Long, Foster Sinclair, and Annie Reese Sinclair.

Rene’ was a well-loved, dedicated, and devoted teacher for over 40 years and 36 of those years were spent at Presbyterian Christian School, her home away from home. She faithfully taught over 3,000 students during her career as an educator. Many former students have shared that it was Mrs. Foster who first sparked their love of reading, which is the legacy she wholeheartedly and firmly believed in.

A funeral service will be held at Woodland Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg, MS, on Friday, May 28th, at 10:00 a.m.  A graveside service will immediately follow at Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery in Petal, Ms.

Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, that your sentiments instead be gifted to The Rene' Foster Memorial Fund at Presbyterian Christian School. Should you have questions about this fund, please email Jamie Tice. (jtice@psck12.org)
