Ashley Kay Russell
On Thursday, October 15, 2020 heaven gained a new angel. Ashley Kay Parker Russell, 58, went to be with her Lord and Savior.
She is preceded in death by her father-Richard Eugene Parker, mother-Vera Mae Parker, and Sister-Margaret Elizabeth Mulford.
She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Curtis Russell; Niece, Kelly Elizabeth Franklin (Howard); great niece Katelynn Elizabeth Franklin; and best friend Michelle Carver (Jim). Ashley has two half-brothers Richard Parker, Jr and Brad Parker. She is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Ashley was born in Mobile, AL on April 29, 1962. Her parents moved around due to her fatherís employment and retired in Jackson, MS where Ashely attended High School. She obtained a Bachelorís Degree from USM. She later went back to school and obtained an Associateís Degree and became a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This was her true calling. She dedicated her time and love effortlessly and willingly caring for others. Ashley met the love of her life and married Roger Russell and lived in Purvis, MS with their 4 dogs and horses. Ashley was a member of Venture Church of Hattiesburg. She worked with Guest Services to always make visitors and members feel welcome. She found a deep love for God and the Church over the past seven years. She saw each day as a new chance to love God and spread his message.
Ashley saw the world in a different light through her artwork/photography with colorful redefined images that embraced happiness in her life and others. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 25, 2020, with visitation at beginning at 12:30 pm at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home, 205 Bay Street, Hattiesburg, MS.
