Betty Sue Swan

Betty Sue Debrow Swan (80) of Purvis, MS was born on July 25, 1941 to Clenon Debrow and Rosa Bell Sumrall Debrow.

She went to her Heavenly Home on December 30, 2021, quietly passing in her home with her husband and daughters at her bedside.

She was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family and watched proudly as it grew, celebrating each new birth. She was a devout Christian who was a witness for God, through Choir, ladies ensemble, hand bells, Sunday school teacher, soloist, and pianist. She was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, achieving Worthy Patron position in 1971. She was active in her church and Eastern Star, as well as the church quilting group and much more until her health declined.
Betty Sue graduated from Lumberton high school in 1959, going on to Pearl River Community College where she graduated with an Associates Degree. When her children were older, she worked as the payroll supervisor at Deep South Trucking for more than 25 years. Her beautiful smile brought joy and peace to everyone who knew her.

Betty Sue was preceded in death by her parents Clennon and Rosa Debrow and a brother Dean Debrow(Joyce).

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 60 years, Thomas Delve Swan; daughters Kimberly Renee Nicolosi and Nancy Swan Rayburn; son Thomas Wayne Swan(Jenny), all of Purvis; six grandchildren , David Ross Rayburn, Casey Allen Rayburn, Rachel Marie Nicolosi, Adam Charles Nicolosi, Jessica Nicole Swan and Lauren Grace Swan; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Debrow (Jerry), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.


Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Purvis MS with visitation beginning at 12:30 PM at the church.

Interment will be in Coaltown Cemetery, Purvis, MS.

Officiating her service will be Reverend Bob Kendrick, pastor of First Baptist Church, Purvis.
