Bonnie L. Kaden
Mrs. Bonnie L. Kaden, age 88, of Purvis, MS (formerly of Long Beach, MS) passed away on Wednesday, February 6, at the Grove of Columbia, MS. Born December 19, 1930, Mrs. Kaden was the daughter of Charles W. Speelman, Sr. and Jane McCrea Speelman. She was the seventh of eight children.
Mrs. Kaden was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William C. Kaden. She was an avid reader who enjoyed mysteries and word puzzles.
Mrs. Kaden was a registered nurse and worked at the Camarillo State Mental Hospital. She eventually retired from the Naval Oceanographic Research and Development Association in Hancock County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Long Beach and attended Venture Church in Hattiesburg.
Mrs. Kaden was a volunteer mother for the Girl Scouts of America and a foster parent. She served as president of the Military Wives Club at CBC Gulfport, MS and risked her own safety to rescue a family from their burning home.
Mrs. Kaden is survived by her three children; Eugene Williamson (Katie) of Portland, OR, Linda Williamson (Jack Oden) of Fairhope, AL, and Jane Bosarge of Purvis, MS. She had three grandchildren; Ian Harbaugh, Jesse Williamson, and Kylan Bosarge and one great grandchild, Ascher Williamson.
Graveside services will be held Monday, February 11, 2019, at 11:00 am at Highland Cemetery. Family will be available to greet friends at the gravesite. Memorials may be made to Venture Church Building Fund, 4142 Lincoln Rd., Hattiesburg, MS 39402.
