Carl Presley Haag, Jr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Presley Haag, Jr. Born in Meridian Mississippi on April 25, 1940, he passed at his home in Hattiesburg on Friday, December 11, 2020.
Carl’s family moved to Hattiesburg when he was a young boy. He grew up there, graduated Hattiesburg High School and attended USM. He married Carolyn Lott Haag in 1961, and the couple moved to Tokyo Japan to serve in the US Army. They returned to Hattiesburg to settle down and run the family businesses, Quick Pick #1 and Quick Pick #2. He spent his retirement years gardening, cooking, fishing, and rescuing stray animals of all sorts. Carl was an avid college football fan and loved funny stories and practical jokes. He was well known for growing delicious summer tomatoes.
Carl is survived by his sister Susan Haag Meyers; his children Cheryl Navo, Carla Abraham, Carl Haag III, and Cacee DeYoung; his grandchildren Carolyn Joas, Christopher Diemert, Ryan Henry, Kayleigh Keating, Thomas Henry, Carl Haag IV, and Caala Haag; his great grandchildren Isabella Muli, Lily Joas, Joshua Joas, Daisy Jane Keating, Carter Herrin, Carolyn Haag and Harrison Williamson; and many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Lott Haag, his brother Robin Haag, and his sister Hazel Marie Davis.
Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. He will be deeply missed by family and all who knew him.
