Mrs. Carole King
Memorial Services will take place at 2 P.M. Wednesday at Hulett Winstead Funeral Home for Mrs. Carole King, 83, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, surrounded by her loving family.
Carole was born June 12, 1934, in Gulfport, MS, to Harvey H. and Grace U. Thompson. She graduated from Gulfport High School and then went on to earn a degree in elementary education from the University of Southern Mississippi. While active in the Junior Auxiliary, she served as president and regional director. She was active in various clubs and was an avid bridge player. Carole was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
Mrs. King is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Jean Travis.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, David; one son, David, Jr. of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Nancy (Rick) Ward of Baton Rouge, LA, and Patti (Alex) Behar of Trophy Club, TX; four grandchildren, Allison (Jacob) Oubre, Stephen (Rachel) Behar, Richard (Ruth) Ward, and Jamie Behar; one great granddaughter, Vivian Oubre, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carole's name to Homes of Hope.
