Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Military Baptist Church for Mrs. Diane Johnson (née Entrekin) age 74 of Biloxi, Mississippi (formally of Sumrall, Mississippi) who transitioned on Friday, March 12, 2021, peacefully at her coastal home. Interment will be in Military Baptist Church Cemetery.
Diane was born on December 24, 1946 in Purvis, Mississippi to Albert and Areatha Entrekin. She married Howard A. Johnson, the love of her life in 1961. After moving to Sumrall, Mississippi, the loving couple started a family that they would continue to love and nurture. Outside of spending every moment being devoted to her full-time role as a homemaker, Diane worked for Movie Star Industries as a seamstress, along with other retail and service professions. Over the next years, the loving couple welcomed four children into their family home and Diane continued to remain devoted to filling it with an adoring care. Her children know and will always remember her as a spirited mother who raised them with an unwavering love.
Diane took every honor in being a genuine Southern Belle. Diane proudly filled her role as the family’s matriarch, whether filling the home’s kitchen with the aroma of fresh baked sweets, stitching a tear in her husband’s torn coverall, placing a bandage on a fresh wound, mixing sweet tea to sip on a warm summer’s evening, or even the unwavering devotion to her personal beauty regiments. Diane was fulfilled by her many life roles as a daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend, coworker, church member, and an individual who loved living an honorable life and who was passionate about every part of it. Diane was dedicated to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and bared her steadfast faith to his word through worship and prayer.
Diane is preceded in death and being spiritually welcomed by her husband, Howard A. Johnson; her parents, Albert and Areatha Entrekin; her son, Dewayne Johnson; and other relatives and friends.
