Eddie Glasscock, 72, of Purvis, MS, passed away December 26, 2020, at his home.
Mr. Glasscock was born September 27, 1948, in Hattiesburg, MS, to Howard and Earnestine.
After graduating from Purvis High School, Eddie served in the United States Army from 1968-1971, as Military Police, spending two years in Alaska, where he perfected his ping pong skills.
When he got out of the military, he began working for Tom’s Peanuts, filling vending machines, before taking a job at the University of Southern Mississippi as a locksmith, where he stayed for 38 years. He retired in 2010.
Eddie enjoyed trivia, Scrabble, chess, music, and going to the movies with his bride. He had a laugh that filled every room and a story for any occasion. He left a small piece of himself with everyone he met.
Mr. Glasscock was father to one son, Benjamin Isaac (Cypress, TX), grandfather to 9, and great grandfather to 2.
In 1998 Eddie married his wife, Diane, and they lived happily for the last 22.5 years at a home they built together in Purvis.
Glasscock was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Glasscock was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Earnestine.
He is survived by his wife Diane, brothers James (Barbara), Harold (Linda), sister Debbie Hall (Mike), son Benjamin (Jeunee’), step-daughters Telia Hiatt (Matthew) and Rhonda Keith (Brad), and step-son Jay (Jennie), grandchildren Jacob Hiatt (Brandi), Jenna Pendegrast (Hayden), Emilee Hiatt, Dalton Hiatt, Whitney Keith, Micah Keith, Andrew Hensarling, Zachary Hensarling, Amelia Kate Hensarling and great grandchildren McKinley Hiatt and Jason Pendergrast.

Graveside Services were held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Oral Baptist Church Cemetery.
