Edith Reber "Honey" McKay

Services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday at Hulett-Winstead Chapel for Mrs. Edith "Honey" McKay, 100, of Hattiesburg.
Burial will be in Roseland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. McKay was the daughter of George Thomas and Edith Hamilton Reber born November 3, 1911.Mrs. McKay attended Hattiesburg Public Schools and the University of Southern Mississippi. She worked at Willmut Gas Company and worked for four years at a Civil Service Appointment at Camp Shelby, MS during World Way II. Mrs. McKay retired from the Hattiesburg American in 1976 where she had worked as a bookkeeper for more than 20 years.
She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Hattiesburg. She was also a member of Epsom Sigma Alpha Sorority, which is a philanthropic and social organization which worked with mentally challenged individuals.
Mrs. McKay married Rueben McKay in 1978 and he predeceased her in 1985. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Alice Reber Moll, Verna Lee Reber, Georgia Reber; one brother, Hamilton Reber and one half-sister, Ethel Reber Symington.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a cousin, Mrs. Lou Holder, who was also her caregiver for many years.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home.
