Everett Dale Burnett, II

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Everett Dale Burnett, II, 71, of Petal, MS.

He died Friday, December 3, 2021 at his home.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Burnett retired from Northrop Grumman as a Facilities manager after 28 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving as a United States Marine and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3036. He attended Petal Harvey Baptist Church and was very involved in animal rescue, donating food to local shelters as well as taking them home and fostering over 100 puppies over the last 8 years. He loved antique cars and was a member of the car club, East and Classy in Lancaster, CA. His family was the world to him and his grandchildren were the light of his life and time spent with them was time well spent.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Beth Burnett; a brother, Danny Burnett and his father-in-law, Ernie Trussell.

He is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Sue Burnett of Petal, MS; two sons, Kevin Todd Burnett of California and Everett Dale "Hooper" Burnett, III; two daughters, Wendy Dinsmore of California and Trista  Thompson of Petal, MS and ten grandchildren, Wyatt and Audrina Thompson, Sharon, Tobias, Elijah, and Paul Burnett, Endya and Eyiah Burnett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials contributions be made in Dal's name to New Hope Animal Rescue, Newhopeanimalrescuecenter@gmail.com; Hub City Humane Society, or to VFW Post 3036.

Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 PM Wednesday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home.
