Ilse S. Hale
Graveside services were held at 1:00 PM Friday at Roseland Park Cemetery for Mrs. Ilse S. Hale, 72, of Hattiesburg, MS. Rev. Knox Baird officiated the services.
She died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Merit Health Wesley.
Mrs. Hale was born December 1, 1945 in Sweden to Erik Aagaard and Elsie V. Salen.
Isles graduated from the University of Chicago. She was one of the original Pan Am Flight attendants, and flew with them for over 20 years. Because she was a very accomplished linguist and spoke eight languages, she had the ability to strike up a conversation with almost anyone.
Throughout Ilse's life she lived many places, but Greenwich, CT, Dallas, TX, and Hattiesburg, MS were her true homes.
Ilse was masterful at crossword puzzles; she was never without one. She was an excellent cook and a true southern Hostess that enjoyed entertaining and seeing smiles on her friends and families faces.
Isle was a very proud dual Citizen of Sweden and the United States. She attained her dual citizenship in 1985, Dallas, TX. As a Staunch and fierce supporter of the Republican Party, she would share her values and beliefs when asked. Ilse was also a long standing member of The First Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg, MS.. She was a World Traveler, and enjoyed exploring new places and learning about new cultures.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M. Allen Hale.
She is survived by her step-children, Allison MacDowell (Fred) Matthews, NC; Mark A. Hale of Hattiesburg, MS, Brittany A. Winslow (Jason), Robert E. DuBoise, III, Parker A. MacDowell, Kylie A. Ruder, and Ryder A. Winslow; many loving Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
