Services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday at DeKalb Presbyterian Church in DeKalb, MS for James Lucas Darby, 79, of Seminary, MS.
He died Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the VA Nursing Home in Collins, MS.
Interment will be in Rush Cemetery in DeKalb, MS.
Mr. Darby worked in the garment industry for 29 years, with 20 years of that as plant manager; in later years, he operated a TV repair business and then his own tax preparation business. He was a member of Seminary Baptist Church, 1957 graduate of DeKalb High School, and 1961 graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a Veteran of the Mississippi Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Anita Pauline Cullum Darby; parents, William F. and Annabel Darby; three brothers, Donald Darby, Robert Darby, and Billy Darby.
He is survived by two daughters, Amy Darby Ashley (Ken) of Seminary, MS and Laura Darby of Cartersville, GA; sister-in-law, Goldie Darby of Brandon, MS; four grandchildren, Annabelle Bridges of Cartersville, GA, Travis, Abby, and Cai Ashley of Seminary, MS; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Ray, Bill Gully, Travis Ashley, Mike Pilgrim, Roger Gattis, and Ken Ashley.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM at DeKalb Presbyterian Church.
