James Otis "Jimmy" Mayo

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 13, 2021 at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. James Otis "Jimmy" Mayo, 59, of Hattiesburg, MS.

Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.

Jimmy passed away peacefully at  Asbury Hospice House on the evening of Tuesday, August 10, 2021, in Hattiesburg, MS, the town of his birth. He was born March 20, 1962 to Jeff and Marguerite Mayo. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, drawing, photography, American history, and football; especially the University of Miami "Hurricanes."

Jimmy was a kind soul who was challenged in life from its beginning. He always ended his conversations with "Love You" to his sister and best friend; often several times a day. His favorite food was crawfish.

He was preceded in death by his father, Asa Jefferson Mayo, Sr.; mother, Marguerite Ross Mayo, and brother-in-law, Randy Jamison.

Jimmy is survived by his brother, Jeff Mayo (Kathy); his sister, Beth Mayo Jamison; a niece, Tori Mayo Banks (Nathan) and a nephew, Kable Wedgeworth (Morgan) all who live in Hattiesburg, MS and a host of surviving great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the Lamar County Pine Pelt Mental Health and all the staff for their love, care, and devotion to Jimmy and his entire family for the last 27 years.
