Jefferson Thomas Traylor
Jefferson Thomas (J.T.) Traylor Jr. passed away on September 23rd, 2018 at home in Pearl, MS. The youngest child of Jefferson Thomas Traylor and Maude Inez Pouncey Traylor; He was born on October 19, 1926 in Covington County, MS. He lived in the Sanford/Seminary area most of his life and graduated from Sanford High School. He was a self employed master machinist in the Hattiesburg area, and also ran his own service station in the area. He married Doris Curry LeDuke in November of 1975 becoming husband, father, and grandfather all at once at the age of fifty.
At the time of his passing, he was living in Pearl with his stepdaughter, Marcia L. Moore (and until recently Tommie Moore her husband). He died amid loving family- granddaughter Virginia Moore and great grandson Samuel Jayce.
He was a member of St. Pierre's Episcopal church of Gautier, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his four sisters, Alma Traylor Culpepper (Mrs. W. Louie), Elma Lee Traylor Jones (Mrs. Andrew V.), Florence Inez Traylor Moorer (Mrs. Carl L.), Evelyn Oceen Traylor, and one niece, Dorothy Jean Steinwinder of Jackson, MS.
He is survived by one niece, Edna Marie Jones Ginn of Dallas, TX; one nephew, Robert Otis Jones of Tylertown, MS; stepdaughter, Marcia LeDuke Moore of Pearl, MS; stepson, Roy LeDuke III of Montevallo, AL.; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 5 great nephews, and 1 great niece.
Visitation will be at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home beginning at 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 with graveside services to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Bullock cemetery in Sanford, MS.
