Jesse Marion Stuart

Jesse Marion Stuart, 88, of Hattiesburg, died Tuesday morning at home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th from 5PM until 8PM. The funeral service will be Saturday morning at 10:30PM. Both will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Burnt Bridge) with burial service to follow at Grantham Cemetery.
After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Marion spent his entire career in the timber contracting business. He and his twin brother, Marlin, owned Stuart Brothers, Inc. for many years, retiring in his seventies. He loved his work and always threatened to return to it some day.
Marion was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ada, of 59 years. As a couple, they complimented each other perfectly and had a wonderful life together. They enjoyed traveling extensively, playing golf and bridge, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. He also loved being a father, grandfather and more recently a great-grandfather. In addition, he took his role of big brother to his eleven siblings very seriously. He was never too busy to make time for any and all who needed him.
Marion is survived by his two children: son, Jimmy (Stephanie) Stuart and daughter, Melanie (Butch) McKenzie; grandchildren, Wes McKenzie, Jessica Stuart, and Jason (Katelyn) Stuart; great-granddaughter, Daley Stuart; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brothers: Marlin, Monroe (Sharon), Leroy (Louann), Don (Doris), Ronnie (Joyce), Oscar (Denise), and Otho (Debbie); and sisters, Shirley Morrow (Joe), Lillie Beach, and Jean (Tim) Pursley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Lillie Stuart, and brother Harvey.
Marion was a long-time member of Burnt Bridge Baptist Church always serving joyfully, whenever or wherever his was needed.
The family wishes to thank the personnel of Halcyon Hospice, Mississippi Home Care, and all of the doctors and nurses involved in his care.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
