Jimmie M. Pace

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Sumrall Chapel for Mr. Jimmie M. Pace, 81,of Sumrall, MS.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Thursday at Hulett-Winstead Sumrall Chapel.
Interment will be in Graves Cemetery.
He lost his battle to cancer on Monday, April 17, 2017 at home in
Perkinston.
Jimmie was born on February 27, 1936 to George Bitz and Dorothy Holiman. Although he never knew his birth parents, he was soon adopted by Murphy and Dovie Pace, to be loved and cherished as their only child.
Jimmie attended Bassfield High School in Jefferson Davis County. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 8 years. He then went to work for Davis Trans General as 2nd class Boat Mate. He retired as Boat Captain 32 years later. Jimmie loved walking or riding a bike from his home in Sumrall to Long Leaf Trace. He still loved to walk at age 81. He also loved swing the ladies around the dance floor at VFW Post 146, Petal, MS.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his Mother and Dad Murphy, and Dovie Graves Pas, his only child Jessica Olivia and his wife, Denise Hill Pace.
He is survived by his cousin, in whom he loved as a sister, Dorothy Sanford; cousin, Jewel West; friends, Rex Broome, whom he loved like a brother and Eddie Woodward, whom he loved like a son.
He leaves behind neighbors and friends who will miss his sense of humor.
Last but not least from my arms to the arms of your Daughter, who I believe picked me out to love and care for you until you could join her in that bright light.
