Johnathon Tyler "Bobo" Morgan
Johnathon Tyler Morgan, affectionately called “BoBo” by his family and friends, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 in Hattiesburg, MS.
BoBo was born at Forrest General Hospital to Lance and Joyce Morgan on April 13,1990.
BoBo is survived by his two sons, Lucas Morgan & Liam Morgan both of Carriere, MS; his parents, Lance & Joyce Morgan of Ellisville, MS; his sister, Courtney Odom and her husband Jonathan, their children, Rayce Morgan and Eyan Odom of Moselle, MS; his brother, Tucker Morgan, his daughter Tayler Morgan of Ellisville, MS. his grandparents, Delma & Hilda Fiveash of Carnes, MS and Jerry & Stephanie Morgan of McLaurin, MS. He is preceded in death by his grandparents George and Carolyn O’Donnell of Carriere, MS.
From an early age BoBo was recognized for his outstanding athletic abilities from baseball to disc-golf, he started his athletic career with Dixie Youth Baseball in Hattiesburg, MS, and in 2000 they won the 10 year old World Series, in Terrell, TX, where Bobo broke the record for the fastest game ever pitched in a world series.
He attended high school at Forrest County Agricultural High School where he played both baseball and football. He had several accomplishments such as Special Team MVP in football, All-area team in both baseball and football, Golden Glove award for baseball and several others. He played in the State games for Mississippi where he received the award he was most proud of, which was the Twink Sexton Award. This award is given during the state games to the player that shows the most unselfish love of the game of baseball.
In 2012, BoBo attended Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama, where he received the national award for All Region XXII Baseball Southern League 1st Team.
He also played semi-pro baseball for 2 teams Milwaukee Brewers out of Utica, New York and the Black Sox out of Laurel, MS. While playing with the Black Sox, they played in Laurel, MS and brought home the state championship title.
BoBo loved spending time with his family and friends, laughing and always having a smile on his face. He was a loving and caring person, loving father, son, brother, and grandson. He will be remembered for his wildly entertaining personality, his generous smile, his baby blue eyes and his ability to make a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
