Julius Catlett

Julius Marvin “Bo” Catlett, Hattiesburg, MS passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Forrest General Hospital.  Born in Lauderdale County, MS to Frank and Louise Catlett he lived most of his youth in George County, MS and most of his adult life in Jefferson Parish, LA.  He returned to Greene County, MS for several years and finally lived his last 10 years in Hattiesburg, MS.

Bo was a kind and generous man who demonstrated a cool demeanor and charming sense of humor.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a 32
°Mason and a member of the Joppa Shriners.  He was a car enthusiast and worked in transportation as a truck driver, and later as a transportation manager in Louisiana.  He worked as a prison guard, store clerk, and as a store manager after moving back to Mississippi.

Bo was a loving father to his two children and their families.  He is survived by his son Marvin “Tony” Catlett, daughter in law Carla Catlett, daughter Elizabeth “Lizzy” Catlett, and son in law Jerry Carson. He is also survived by three grandsons, Thomas Catlett, Lorenzo Catlett, and Carlo Catlett, all of Hattiesburg.  He has one surviving brother Donald Catlett, and his wife Vera Nell Catlett,  his sister in law Marilyn Catlett, and five nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Louise Catlett, his brother Larry Catlett and his wife Santa Catlett.

A memorial will be held on May 6, 2018 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at The Landmark Café & Grill in  Lucedale, MS, to celebrate his life.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
