He was an avid fishman and held the state record for the biggest large-mouth bass catch for several years. He spent many hours in his garden, working in it until he was 90 years old, growing vegetables and giving them to all his family and friends.

He has one surviving sister-in-law, Eloise Illanne of Cypress, TX; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Breland was the foundation of his family. He leaves a great hole in the lives of those who love him. He will truly be missed but we know that he is at peace in Heaven; still guiding and watching over us.
