Lenward A. Lee
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 for Lenward A. Lee, 92, of Brooklyn, MS.
Lenward died on Sunday, October 19, 2021 at Azalea Gardens Nursing Home in Wiggins, MS, with his wife by his side.
Mr. Lee met his wife, Sue, in 1952, and they married on Christmas Eve of 1954. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as a combat medic. He retired from Southeastern Louisiana University as a faculty member. Mr. Lee was a member of First Baptist Church of Brooklyn, where he was active in teaching Sunday School and leading Bible study groups for over thirty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Edward Lee and Bertha Mae Keith Lee both of Brooklyn; his brothers, Edward Lee of Brooklyn and Lawrence Lee of Brooklyn; and his sister Betty Faye Lee Mason of Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sue Day Lee of Brooklyn; a daughter, Lissa Lee (Nelson) of Glen Rose, TX; a son, Gary Lee of Hammond, LA; two grandsons, Matthew Lee (Jennifer) of Hattiesburg and David Lee (Cecilia) of Petal, MS; a granddaughter, Anne Lee Jendel (Jeff) of Willow Park, TX; a sister, Shirley Lee Scrimpshire of Enterprise; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Brooklyn, MS.
Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Brooklyn, MS.
A graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral service at Rock Hill Cemetery in Carnes, MS.
