Mallie Faye Gunter

Mallie Faye Buxton Gunter made it safely home on February 11, 2020.
She was born  September 30, 1940 in Waynesboro Mississippi and graduated from Hattiesburg High School, and also The Technical College of The Low Country, Beaufort South Carolina. Preceded in death by her father, Mallie Buxton, and her mother, Geneva Lois Buxton.  She was raised Pentecostal and attended the University Assembly of God in Hattiesburg.

She is survived by her daughter Charlene Rothrock (Jerry) of Jacksonville Florida, two sons, Allan Gunter (Angie) of Lake City Florida, and  Ray Gunter (Lisa) of Gray Georgia. Two brothers; Ronnie buxton of Hattiesburg, Donald Buxton (Dorothy) of Buford,SC and two sisters Dianne Grantham (Roy) of Tylertown, Mississippi and Tammy Dawson (Bobby) of Madison Mississippi.
3 granddaughters ; Jennifer Rothrock, Kelly Gunter and Kaylin Gunter Anderson (Yannick). 3 Grandsons; John Rothrock (Heather) , Justin Gunter (Alicia), and Matthew Gunter.
1 great grandson; Carter, 3 great grand daughters; Skye, Hadlee and Braelyn.
5 nephews, Brandon, Jonathan, Zach, James and Richard and 2 nieces, Rebekah and Kelli, as well as a host of other loved ones.

She was a long term employee of Howard Christian Daycare Center in Hattiesburg but was a homemaker for most of her life.

Her life revolved around her family and God and her trust in Him. She loved gospel music and enjoyed hearing her family worship the Lord thru song and the playing of instruments.  Memorial contributions can be made to The Lou Gehrig’s foundation in her name as a tribute to her dad.

Services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
