Patsy Cabaniss Roseberry

A graveside service will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Coal Town Cemetery in Purvis MS for Mrs. Patsy Cabaniss Roseberry, 86 of Katy, TX.

She passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.

Pat was born in Tuscaloosa AL and moved to Purvis at a very young age. It’s in Purvis where she met her high school sweetheart, the late Malcolm Roseberry, Sr. Pat is a Purvis High School graduate and attended Pearl River JC Cosmetology School. She enjoyed her time as a beautician and it kept her busy as Malcolm completed his time in the service and began his banking career. Upon the birth of her son, Malcolm, Jr (Laney) she joyfully became a homemaker and spent the next 18 plus years being involved in all of both Malcolm Sr and Laney’s activities. Those included, starting Newcomers Club and Jr Auxiliary, Clinton MS as well as sports team mom, moto-cross mom, and life trainer/coach. In 1982, Pat joined Malcolm in his specialty construction company as Office Manager and held this position until she retired in 1996.

There is no question what really made Pat happy, the presence of her three grandchildren, Trey, Carley, and Trent. She was able to relocate to Katy, TX in 2001 to be closer to them. From keeping the grandchildren during the day in their younger years to making McDonald’s runs for them in high school, she stayed busy doing for them as she wanted. She did not know the word “no”. Pat was also very involved in her church and Bible Study classes at Second Baptist Church, Katy TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tollie Clint and Beulah West Cabaniss; her husband, Malcolm L. Roseberry, Sr.; son, Neil Roseberry (stillborn); two brothers, TC Cabaniss Jr. and James Cabaniss, and three sisters, Sarah Louise Ramsay, Jean Murray, and Reydonia Housley.

She is survived by her son, Malcolm Laney Roseberry, Jr.; daughter-in-law Wendi Hinrichs Roseberry, and three grandchildren, Malcolm L Roseberry III (Trey), Carley A Roseberry, and Trenten R Roseberry, all of Katy, TX.

Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg MS is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
