Ronald Edward Keller

Graveside Services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Highland Cemetery for Mr. Ronald Edward Keller, 72, of Hattiesburg, MS.

He died Friday, December 24, 2021.

Mr. Keller was born September 12, 1949 in Hattiesburg, MS to Edward Keller and Mary Nell Blackwelder Keller. He was brought up in Petal, MS and he attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned the Doctor of Philosophy.
Ron was employed by the State of Mississippi Department of Health for thirty-four years. He began his career there as a teacher, and subsequently served in several positions including Grants Writer and Nursing Home Administrator, He served on the Board of Directors for Right to Succeed, Inc. as President for a number of years. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for Royal Maid. Both of the entities were nonprofit organizations to provide housing and employment opportunities for mentally and physically disabled individuals.

Ron had a servant's heart; he applied his academic skills to helping others both in the workplace and in the community. He served as Deacon and Elder in the Petal Presbyterian Church and as Deacon in First Presbyterian Church.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, father and mother, Edward and Mary Nell Keller.

Ron is survived by  his wife of 36 years, Mildred Joyce Giles Keller; son, Kristopher Keller (Kristie) Hoover, AL; daughter, Jennifer Garriga (John) of Hattiesburg, MS; one sister, Cindy Keller of Petal, MS; two grandsons, Evan Keller of Hoover, AL and John Patrick Garriga of Hattiesburg, MS.
