Samuel George Dossett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel George Dossett, on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Sam's suffering was a result of a 5 1/2-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Sam was born in Hattiesburg Mississippi on July 2nd 1947. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Natchez Mississippi where Sam would go on to graduate in 1965 from Natchez Adams County High School. After graduating, Sam entered Mississippi State University majoring in business administration. Sam also joined the Army National Guard with the 155th battalion.

While in high school Sammy met Pam Seale, they dated in college and later married. She was the love of his life for 54 wonderful years. They had two children, Thomas Joseph Dossett and Tami Melissa Dossett.

For over 25 years Sam was an active member of Parkway Baptist church and was elected Deacon numerous times.  His acts of loyalty and obedience shaped Sammy's life and Jesus's promises became his solid rock.

While living in Natchez Sam became a car dealer and helped many people with their automobile needs. Years later Sam and Pam moved back to Hattiesburg where they worked for many years at Danny Dossett's dealership. Sam and Pam became members of Westminster Presbyterian Church where Sam also served as an Elder.

Sam is survived by his wife Pamela M. Dossett; his two children, Thomas Joseph Dossett and Tami Melissa Dossett; two grandchildren, Clinton Dossett Novak and Taylor Renee Finn; two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Randals Dossett, Terri Lou Wolfe, and Jami Seale Watson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
