Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Allen Walton, 72, known to those who loved her as Susan Walton originally from Hattiesburg, MS are being held at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Seminary, MS at 11:00 am on October 26, 2021. Mrs. Walton passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.
Services will be officiated by Reverend Barry Armstrong of Union Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hulett Winstead Funeral Home of Hattiesburg, MS.
Mrs. Walton was originally from Hattiesburg, MS where she graduated from Hattiesburg High School in 1966. She married the love of her life on her 20th birthday, November 24,1968. After graduating from USM in 1970, she set off to Brooksville, Florida to teach Home Economics in the Hernando County School system. She had her first child Kimberly Robin in 1973 and her second Christopher William in 1975. After several years, Mrs. Walton chose to step back from teaching to manage personal business affairs and raise her children. In the early 1990’s she began another career as a real estate agent. In 1994, she relocated with her husband to Jacksonville, FL where they stayed until retirement. In 2002 she became a grandmother for the first time and by 2012 she was Nana to 1 girl and 5 boys. After retirement she and her husband built a second home in Seminary, MS on the original Walton Homestead. They spent their time split between there and Jacksonville, FL, as well as, traveling the country and abroad.
She was a faithful servant of God and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arlington in Jacksonville, FL. She lived a life devoted to service in and out of the church. She was a volunteer in the children’s areas of church and was also the Acolyte Coordinator at the Methodist Church in Brooksville, FL.
Her greatest achievement in this life was successfully fulfilling the roles of Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Larkin and Sue Ella Thrash Allen and her sister, Joyce Clardy Boyd.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Hugo “Bill” William Walton of Jacksonville, FL; her daughter and her husband, Kimberly Walton and Rowe Dwight Jones of Seminary, MS and their children Camellia Robin and Jeremiah Rowe Jones; her son and his wife, Christopher William and Irene Chacon Walton of Fernandina Beach, FL and their children Noah Lee Burke, Mason Larkin, Everett William, and Ryder Griffin Walton; her sisters, Ann McInnis McMullan and Molly Stevens and her brother, Earl Leon Clardy.
