Wilburn Kenneth Yates

Wilburn "Ken" Yates, 85, went to his heavenly home on January 26,

2018 surrounded by loved ones who will greatly miss him.

Throughout his life, he was absolutely devoted to his wife, daughters,

grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband and

father who always showed his family support and unconditional love.

He served his country during the Korean War and was a man of

strong faith. He believed and shared the power and strength of Jesus'

love and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing.

He had a wonderful sense of humor and a passion for music. He

shared his musical talents and giftings in his final years through

volunteering and serving his community. He was well known as a

caring and compassionate person, and he put the needs of others

before his own. It was the simple things around him in life that he

never took for granted, commenting daily how fortunate and thankful

he was.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Gerry, of 65 years, his

daughters and sons in law, Cheryl & Rodney Estess, Sandy & Butch

Hyden, Jodi De Smidt, Juli Sheley, and Linda Adkins. He was lovingly

called Papa by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and he

leaves behind Brittany & Wally, Cayla and Boog, Julia, Judy, Sandy,

Katie, Candice & Lincoln, Andrew & Jenifer, Jacob, Ella, Breven,

Johnny, Faith, Layla, Avalyn, Lela, Madison, McKenna, Zoey, and
